Abstract:Harris was born in Soda Springs, Idaho on 19 September 1911. He graduated from Utah State University in 1933 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Bureau of Public Roads, Forest Service, Coastal Genetic Survey and the United States Geological Survey. On assignment in Green River, Utah he met Norman Nevills and became interested in river running. He eventually started his own river running company "Harris Boat Trips." The collection contains diaries of river trips, photocopies of articles and other miscelleanous items plus three sets of original maps from his river trips.

Biographical Note

Harris was born in Soda Springs, Idaho on 19 September 1911. He graduated from Utah State University in 1933 with a degree in Civil Engineering.
